Common questions
Can I resize without keeping the original aspect ratio?
Yes — turn off "Lock aspect ratio" and width and height become fully independent. Doing so stretches or squashes the image to fit whatever dimensions you enter rather than cropping or adding letterboxing, so a mismatched ratio will visibly distort the image.
Can I make an image larger, not just smaller?
Yes, there's no restriction to shrinking only — you can enter dimensions larger than the original, up to the usual browser processing limit (12,000px per side, 40 total megapixels). Enlarging can't add real detail that wasn't there, though: the extra pixels are interpolated from the existing ones, so a large enough increase will look visibly softer or blurrier than the source.
Can I change the file format or adjust quality/compression here?
No — this tool only changes dimensions. The output keeps your original file's format automatically (JPEG stays JPEG, PNG stays PNG, WebP stays WebP; less common formats like GIF or BMP are converted to PNG, the safest format the browser can reliably re-encode), and there's no quality slider — JPEG/WebP output uses your browser's own default encoding quality.
