If I split between people, does everyone pay exactly the same amount?
Not always, and that's deliberate. When the total doesn't divide evenly to the cent, a few people pay one cent more than the rest so the group's total matches exactly — rather than everyone paying a rounded amount that adds up to a few cents short. The result tells you exactly how many people pay the extra cent.
Does splitting divide the bill alone, or the bill plus tip?
Always the bill plus tip together — the split happens on the total after the tip is added, not on the base bill by itself. There's no option to split those separately.
